ANC Youth League to hold its 25th National Congress

5 November 2014

The ANC Youth League hereby confirms that it will be holding its 25th National Congress under the theme, "Rebuilding a united and radical ANC Youth League for the advancement of economic freedom in our lifetime" as from Tuesday, 25 November 2014 to Saturday, 29 November 2014 at the University of Johannesburg - SOWETO CAMPUS. The National Working Task Team together with all ANCYL Provincial Secretaries are the Steering Committee in charge of all preparations of this forthcoming National Congress.

The National Working Task Team (NWTT) is satisfied with the progress being registered. All provinces are very much prepared for the 25th National Congress.

The provinces that have already held their elective Provincial Congresses will be going for their Provincial General Councils (PGC`s) to nominate their preferred national leaders and to finalize their provincial positions on the discussions. We are happy that there has been ample time for interacting with the 25th National Congress documents that we released on Tuesday, 19 August 2014. The discussion documents are accessible at ancyl.org.za and we encourage everyone, particularly our members to get a copy so that they enrich the discussions.

There are provinces that will be holding their Provincial Congresses before the National Congress starts on 25 November 2014. We are very much confident that they will hold successful elective Congresses and be able to also nominate for the 25th National Congress. The NTT has put in-place a programme that ensures that the forthcoming National Congress is able to come-out with sound resolutions that can be carried to the ANC NGC in 2015.

We have had our Branches and Regions discussing in details how do we transform our organisation to while adapting to the conditions of the 21st Century but remain rooted amongst the people not only virtually. We have presented the structures with options available to us and highlighted the necessity to build a new cadre of our revolution. Members of the media who have worked on covering our organisation and who have been part of the journey traversed by this NTT will be sent e-mail inviting them to also cover our 25th National Congress, in due course.
